More National Women’s Soccer League action occurred across the United States with three games scheduled.
Here is what went down.
The scenes were tense across all the games!
A late penalty saw Bay FC pip Racing Louisville to three points before North Carolina Courage beat Washington Spirit 1-0 in another slim victory.
The late kick-off then saw Utah Royals upset Portland Thorns as the teams split the points in a 0-0 draw despite a staggering 41 shots combined.
Ashley Sanchez grabbed the headlines on Saturday after returning to haunt her former club and scoring the game-winner against them.
Her shot was too much for goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury, and she hit a haunting celebration after.
Safe to say Bay FC have a bright future ahead of them if they keep things up! What’s in the water in California?
Looking at the table, Washington Spirit are third as their six-game unbeaten streak ends.
Portland Thorns sit fifth and are winless in three, while the North Carolina Courage are right below them in sixth.
A bit further down, Bay FC sit eighth with back-to-back wins. Racing Louisville are underneath in ninth, having not won in four.
Utah Royals remain at the bottom of the table but have picked up a vital point.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s action, Gotham FC host Seattle Reign FC in the early kick-off before things wrap up with Angel City FC against Orlando Pride.
