Although there were some doubts about his match with FC Barcelona, the appointment of Hansi Flick as the head coach of the Blaugrana club is proving to be a master-stroke with how the 2024-25 season is going.
The German coach has already won his second trophy with a team that finished the last season empty-handed, and is on track to win even bigger prizes, i.e., La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
But beyond the good results, Flick has also implemented a very effective and entertaining style of play in the Blaugrana team, which is quite different from the traditional style favoured by Barcelona.

Still, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the former Blaugrana goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, believed that this style of play was long overdue in the Catalan team, and expressed his admiration for the German coach in the following words:
“I really enjoy watching Barça because the coach has understood where football has evolved and has been able to give that 4-3-3 a new dynamic… I enjoy it a lot because I truly believe in the style of football they are playing, and because it’s the kind of football that someone needed to bring back to the club a long time ago.”
This was the third time Barcelona beat Real Madrid this season, but the former goalkeeper believed that the Merengue team is never dead:
“[Real Madrid] is never dead… [Which is clear from the] super hard-fought and competitive [final, with] good moments for both teams throughout.”
Definitely this was one of the better performances from the White team as compared to how they played in the previous two games between the two sides this season. There is still an El Clasico to come, one which can prove to be decisive for this La Liga race, but keeping in view recent history, Barcelona would definitely be the favorites to win.
Meanwhile, Victor Valdes will be focused on his duties as the head coach of Real Avila Club de Futbol, as position he took on only recently and made his debut this Sunday.
