Chelsea have ended their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko having admired the striker for three years according to The Athletic.

The Blues made Liam Delap their first signing of the window having agreed a deal worth £30m with Ipswich, and it’s set to be another busy summer.

More new faces will follow Delap through the door at Stamford Bridge and the Blues are looking for a centre back, left winger and versatile attacker.

Chelsea end interest in Benjamin Sesko

Chelsea moved quickly to get Delap through the door and fought off strong competition from Manchester United to land the 22-year-old.

The Blues paid the price at times last season for not having an alternative to Nicolas Jackson, and Delap will give the attack a much needed different dimension.

The England under-21 international impressed on his debut against LAFC on Monday, and Simon Jordan believes Delap has the attributes to become a top player.

With Delap signed attention has now turned to whether the Blues will look to bring another out and out striker in.

They report Chelsea have ended their interest in Sesko having admired the 21-year-old for three years, because his playing style is similar to Delap’s and he’s therefore no longer needed.

Hugo Ekitike and Mohammed Kudus targets

Instead of another striker the Blues appear to be in the market for a versatile forward to fill the role of Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix who are both expected to leave this summer.
