While a lot of attention at the moment is on the end of Chelsea’s club season and the upcoming Club World Cup, there’s other stuff going on this week.

There are Nations League games, and a newly called up Trevoh Chalobah is hoping to get his first cap for England. He spoke to the England media team about how it felt to finally get the chance to represent his country:

“What a week it’s been, winning a trophy with my club, it’s been amazing, then following up with an England callup. It’s been one of my goals this season, and for the past few seasons, so I’m just glad that I’m here,” the humble centre back said.

You can see him speaking in the video embedded here:

It was also noted that Trevoh’s older brother Nat, another former Chelsea academy product and England player, would have been delighted by the news:

“Yeah he was buzzing for me as well, obviously he’s been called up [in the past]. So yeah it was a good moment for me to share that with him and obviously my family also, who were also very happy and excited for me,” Trevoh said.

In terms of advice from big bro, the 25 year old said his brother had to him to “just enjoy it really, just enjoy it, it’s good I know a lot of the boys here, so they’ve helped me so far, it’s good. I can’t wait just to get to training and be ready for the games.”

We really hope Thomas Tuchel gets the defender on the pitch, it’s clear he rates him, having trusted him at Chelsea when few others did. This would be a really special moment for Trevoh, and for Chelsea fans watching another one of their own get a cap.
