Three members of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will be forced to walk the disciplinary tightrope on Saturday evening.

This comes with all three just a solitary booking away from a one-game suspension.

Barca will mark their return to action in short order, when they take to the Estadi Montilivi pitch for a showdown with Catalan neighbours Girona.

Xavi’s troops head into proceedings in the knowledge that a positive result is of paramount importance, amid the ongoing battle for 2nd place in the La Liga table.

In efforts to contribute towards as much, however, three members of Barcelona’s squad, as alluded to above, will be forced to watch their step.

The players in question? İlkay Gündoğan, Andreas Christensen, and Oriol Romeu.

All three are just a booking away from picking up a ban, meaning a yellow card against Girona would see them forced to sit out against Real Sociedad on Monday, May 13th.
