A very final last second transfer deadline day announcement from Newcastle United.

However, the 11pm call (see below) on Friday night, was Joe White off to MK Dons, not some huge incoming deal…

The 21 year old midfielder off on loan for this season to the League Two club.

This coming after Joe White extended his Newcastle United contract.

Newcastle United official announcement – 30 August 2024:

‘Joe White has joined League Two side MK Dons on loan for 2024/25 after extending his contract with Newcastle United.

The 21-year-old, who spent the first half of last season on loan at Crewe Alexandra, featured four times in the Premier League upon his return to St. James’ Park.

White joined the Magpies’ Academy in 2016 and progressed through the ranks via loan spells with Hartlepool United, Exeter City and Crewe, before making his first-team debut in February’s 2-2 draw at home to AFC Bournemouth.

The midfielder will now link up with former United defender Mike Williamson, whose side currently occupy 15th place in League Two.
