There are a number of surprise names on Blackburn Rovers’ released list. Attacker Shepherd was an ever-present for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season while she was their top scorer. Defenders Seed and Coan have been heavily used by Blackburn Rovers in recent seasons, as has attacker Thomas.

The biggest loss for the club this summer is forward Hornby. She ended the 2023/2024 season as the club’s top scorer with seven league goals while she was also the joint-highest goal creator. The attacker is a top talent who could play her football at a higher level in the future.

Blackburn Rovers enjoyed their most successful season to date in the elite game in 2023/2024. The club ended the campaign in sixth position in the Barclays Women’s Championship table with a record points tally of 36.
