The Sweden international, who scored on his full Magpies bow against Arsenal in Singapore last month, will line up for his first game on home soil since his summer arrival from Nottingham Forest.
Nick Pope starts in-between the sticks behind a four-man defence, with Jamaal Lascelles captaining the hosts this afternoon and partnering Sven Botman at the heart of Newcastle's backline, with Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento set to occupy the defensive flanks.
Sandro Tonali and Joelinton will be situated in the middle of the park and are likely to be accompanied by Harrison Ashby while Anthony Gordon could feature in a centre-forward role, with attacking support from Elanga and Harvey Barnes.
Just like last night's 2-2 draw against RCD Espanyol, a number of Academy products have been named on the substitutes' bench, with Alfie Harrison and Sean Neave both aiming to gain more minutes at senior level after the teenage pair featured in the second-half of Friday's friendly against the La Liga side.
Leo Shahar, who joined the Magpies from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2023, will be aiming to make his first-team debut this afternoon while the likes of Alex Murphy, Trevan Sanusi, Garang Kuol and Dylan Charlton are also named on the bench.
John Ruddy and Mark Gillespie are the substitute goalkeepers.
