Roma continues to negotiate with Milan for Alexis Saelemaekers to remain in the capital.
Having arrived last summer through a loan swap with Tammy Abraham, the Belgian winger has convinced the Giallorossi management, who are now working to keep him.
According to Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, last June an agreement was reached between Giorgio Furlani and Lina Souloukou for a permanent transfer.
However, due to lack of time, the operation was transformed into a simple loan swap.
In January, the parties met again, but no definitive agreement was reached, mainly due to the difference in the valuations of the players.
Initially, Abraham was valued at 25 million euros and Saelemaekers at 15, but with the opening of the transfer market the valuations changed, further complicating the negotiation.
Despite the desire of both players to remain in their respective teams, Milan and Roma remain distant.
The Rossoneri club, before making a decision, wants to clarify the situation related to the new sporting director and the coach for next season.
Furthermore, one of the main problems concerns the salary request of Abraham’s agent, who in order to remain in Milan would have to accept a reduction in his salary, currently around 6 million euros per season.
The deal is therefore postponed until the end of the season, when the two clubs will try to find a definitive solution.
