There has been plenty of movement between the sticks at RC Strasbourg Alsace. Djordje Petrovic was at the club last season, however, upon the expiry of his loan deal, he returned to parent club Chelsea. The BlueCo connection saw another Chelsea player arrive to replace him, Mike Penders.
The Belgian too is only on loan and is seen as part of the future at Stamford Bridge. As a result, Strasbourg are somewhat preparing for the future. Former Bristol City goalkeeper Stefan Bajic has already arrived on a free transfer, however, a further recruit is now expected, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Pierce Charles (20) is the subject of discussions. The Yorkshire side are in considerable financial difficulty and may be forced to sell their No.1 goalkeeper. The Northern Ireland international has been the subject of approaches from Rangers and West Ham United, however, L’Équipe understands that RCSA’s approach is more interesting and could soon be accepted by the Owls.
Charles could then return on loan to Sheffield Wednesday for the current season, before joining upon the expiry of the contract of another Strasbourg goalkeeper, Karl-Johan Johnsson.
