Stoke City and Club Brugge are interested in signing Luton Town midfielder Lamine Fanne.
Luton Town’s Lamine Fanne is on the radar of Stoke City and Club Brugge following the Hatters’ relegation to League One.
The midfielder agreed to join Luton in the summer of last year from AIK, but he stayed in Sweden until January.
That saw Fanne arrive at Kenilworth Road in a difficult period for Luton, and they ultimately came up short in their battle to stay in the Championship, as they were relegated following a final day defeat at West Brom.
Fanne only featured 12 times for Luton in 2025, with many of those appearances coming from the bench, so it has been tough to judge the 21-year-old, who is still adapting to the demands of English football.
However, it appears clubs are aware of his talent and potential, as Swedish media outlet Fotboll Direckt has revealed, that both Stoke and Club Brugge are looking to sign Fanne.
They claim that contact has been made between the two clubs and Luton, and they indicate a formal offer is likely to be submitted, although it’s unclear what sort of fee could be put on the table.
It’s far too soon to judge Fanne, but it’s a real shame that Luton could be about to lose a player that they clearly rate highly.
The club spotted his talent last summer, but they were prepared to wait to bring him in, and he was a player who was signed with the long-term in mind.
So, in an ideal world, he would stick around, and he could quite easily become a key figure in the team in League One.
But, it’s not as straightforward as that, and Fanne will want to be playing at the highest level possible, so if offers are on the table, he may want to move on.
Obviously, Stoke provide an instant return to the Championship for the player, and Brugge could be very tempting considering they are competing for titles every year, and there’s a chance they will be in the Champions League once again.
For Luton and Matt Bloomfield, they will know that sales are needed following relegation, and the focus is on building a squad that can bounce back to the Championship at the first attempt.
