Standard Liege closing in on Schalke 04 winger | OneFootball

Vincent Blouard is reporting that Standard Liege are closing in on Schalke 04 winger Tobias Mohr. Having today announced that Mircea Rednic is returning to the club as head coach, director of football Marc Wilmots is now busy preparing to put a squad together for the upcoming season. Wilmots was recently at Schalke 04 in a similar role, so clearly has an understanding of what Mohr could bring to Standard.

The 29-year-old wide man has been with Schalke 04 since the summer of 2022, when he left FC Heidenheim to join them. After 11 goals in 78 games for his previous side, Mohr has played 69 games for Schalke, scoring five goals and providing 12 assists. This past season was his best for the 2 Bundesliga side, with four goals and five assists in 28 games. The German will be available on a free transfer, with his contract at Schalke 04 set to expire at the end of June. Mohr can play anywhere on the left hand side.
