Robert Vilahamn says his players will make one final push to end the season on a positive note ahead of our Barclays Women’s Super League season finale at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (3pm UK).

Tomorrow’s clash against West Ham United will be our third fixture in six days, having already faced Manchester United in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Final last Sunday before a midweek game with Chelsea at Brisbane Road.

Although we suffered defeats in those games, despite a spirited performance against the Blues on Wednesday evening, Robert is targeting a strong finish to a highly impressive campaign in front of supporters at our world-class stadium.

“It has been good,” he replied when asked about the team mood after a busy week of fixtures so far. “We had some tough games, big games, we had a good performance against Chelsea, it was a good thing to see that we keep playing our style.

“We want to end (the season) with a really good game and make sure we go to try and win in front of our fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium so, you can tell, the players are using all the energy they have left to make sure we have a good game and then we will head into the summer break.”

The Hammers enter the final game of the season having safely avoided relegation but remain 11th in the table after a difficult campaign, although they have picked up impressive results against Arsenal, beating them 2-1 at home, and Manchester United in the second half of the season.

Our meeting with Rehanne Skinner’s side earlier in the season was a seven-goal thriller at Dagenham & Redbridge’s stadium, with Jess Naz grabbing a late winner to secure a 4-3 win in our first WSL game of the 2024, and Robert highlights the dangers they will pose despite their league position.

Reflecting on the reverse fixture, he said: “It was a really even game, there was a lot of wind that day, but we had some good moments and also some poor moments as well.

“They (West Ham) have struggled this year, but they have some really good players. If they have a good day, then they can beat Arsenal or get a point against Manchester United.

“They are going to be difficult opponents, but we know we love to play at that stadium, and we also want to learn to play even better football, score more goals, so hopefully we can dictate the game, but it will be tough as they always have competitive games.”
