Tottenham are on the verge of securing a loan deal for Bayern Munich’s Joao Palhinha.
Discussions between the two clubs are well advanced, with a provisional agreement already in place.
Personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle, and the arrangement is expected to include an option for the 30-year-old to join permanently.
Palhinha is no stranger to the Premier League, having featured 68 times in the competition during his two seasons with Fulham prior to his £42.3m switch to Germany in July 2024.
Despite his high-profile move, the Portuguese midfielder has started just six league matches in the Bundesliga and is eager to make a comeback to English football.
Spurs have already completed the permanent signing of Mathys Tel following his loan from Bayern, coinciding with the appointment of head coach Thomas Frank. Mohammed Kudus has also joined from West Ham in a £55m transfer.
The North London club had previously targeted midfield reinforcements but fell short in their efforts to land Nottingham Forest skipper Morgan Gibbs-White.
