Crystal Palace have turned down a deadline day offer for Marc Guehi.

The very reliable David Ornstein says that Spurs are the club who have had the knockback today.

The man from The Athletic says that the fourth one of Newcastle United’s unsuccessful summer bids for the defender, was worth up to £65m, including potential future add-ons.

Other media are also carrying this Marc Guehi story, with Sky Sports reporting that Spurs have offered less than Newcastle United did last summer.

With Crystal Palace refusing to sell in this window, it means that when we get to the summer, Marc Guehi will only have a year left on his Palace contract.

Interesting to see whether Newcastle United go back for their target in that next transfer window, as surely Palace will then be willing to sell to the highest bidder, or else be risking losing him for nothing the following summer.

David Ornstein writing for The Athletic – 3 February 2025:

‘Crystal Palace have rejected a major offer from Tottenham Hotspur to sign Marc Guehi.

The offer for the England international, 24, was for a permanent transfer but was knocked back. Spurs and other clubs are expected to try again in the summer.

Guehi was the subject of four unsuccessful bids from Newcastle United in the summer, with the final one worth up to £65million including add-ons.
