As such, Barcelona are expected to offer state-of-the-art services to fans attending the matches, especially by offering cutting-edge cloud services.

Barcelona, HP and Private Cloud System

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has shed light on Barcelona’s plan to leverage their partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprises (HPE) to offer cloud services to fans.

Until now, Barça has used a public cloud model that is usually costlier. But with HPE. Barcelona plan to bring in a hybrid cloud model that will leverage both public and private cloud models, thereby cutting significant costs.

This hybrid cloud model is set to power multiple services offered to fans, including the ability to order food in the stadium to use their mobiles to enter the ground.

Through a Hybrid model, Barcelona are expected to cut 30% of the cloud costs.

Camp Nou to set an example

The report adds that Camp Nou will set an example, as far as stadiums leveraging the power of technology is concerned.

Apart from cutting-edge cloud services, Spotify Camp Nou will be open to further technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Models – services that will be provided by HPE.

These technological features will be available from Day One as well, meaning fans can leverage these services as soon as Barcelona return to Camp Nou, which, if everything goes well, may occur sometime around mid-February.
