Morten Frendrup is on the list of potential recruitments for several Serie A clubs and AC Milan find themselves among that list.
The January window has heaps of potential for Milan, and it could be season-saving if done right. There are key areas that need fixing and there are the tools available for this to be done, however, the budget must be correctly allocated.
Fikayo Tomori’s sale could be huge for the window, and reports from earlier today have suggested that his departure could fund the arrival of Samuele Ricci, but if Torino are unwilling to part with the Italian, Frendrup could be the best alternate.
In recent weeks, as Sportitalia (via Milan Press) write, the Rossoneri have been keeping tabs on the midfielder, as have Atalanta and some Premier League clubs, though it is worth noting that La Dea have already made a bid to Genoa totalling €15 million.
This has fallen under the price demanded by the Rossoblu though. Instead, they would like to receive €25m for their star midfielder, which realistically, both clubs could afford – for the Diavolo, it will be heavily reliant on the situation of Tomori and Ricci.
Given a midfielder is needed, it is possible that Milan could bite the bullet, as they did in the summer with Fofana, and pay more than they had hoped in the mid-season mercato, especially if it drags them up the table.
