Coventry City announced their third summer signing this week, with Jack Rudoni joining from League One side Huddersfield Town on a four-year deal.

The midfielder joined after Raphael Borges Rodrigues and Luis Binks put pen to paper on deals at the CBS Arena, and it's clear that Coventry mean business this summer.

The Sky Blues forked out a hefty sum of £5million to bring Rudoni to the Midlands, which a lot of money for a player who has recently been relegated to League One, but it's clear that Mark Robins is a fan of the 23-year-old, and if he's able to help Coventry break into the play-offs then it'll be money well spent.

FLW's Coventry fan pundit, Neil Littlewood, believes that Rudoni is an exciting addition to Coventry's squad, and that the transfer fee they've paid is more than fair given his potential.

Speaking to Football League World, Neil said: “Very happy with that one, I’ve seen him a couple of times for Huddersfield and thought he was a really good player.

"We were in for him when he left Wimbledon, and the kid looks like he’s got bags of potential.

"Fair enough, he doesn’t score enough for me, but maybe that’s because he’s been in a low scoring team, with all due respect to Huddersfield. Their top scorer was a centre-half with nine goals, which speaks volumes about their style of play. “I think the writing is on the wall for Callum O’Hare and I think this has kind of proved that Rudoni is his replacement and he’ll probably take the number 10 shirt and take the mantle from Callum. “He’s a bit bigger than Callum, a couple of years younger, and I’m really intrigued to see what he can do.

“For a Championship player who is 23 years old, I’ll take that (the fee) every day of the week. Really excited to see what he can do in a Coventry shirt, linking up with the likes of Ephron Mason-Clark who has come through the door already, and I’m really excited to see what he can do."

Jack Rudoni is a smart signing for Coventry City

With Callum O'Hare seemingly on his way out of the CBS Arena, Rudoni is an excellent replacement, and at just 23, he will grow and improve as a player in the coming years.

Rudoni is versatile, and has played in a number of positions for Huddersfield, but it's important that Robins finds a position for him and keeps him there to ensure he gets a run of games under his belt.

Despite playing in a poor Huddersfield side that were ultimately relegated, Rudoni recorded decent numbers, scoring five times and registering three assists in 35 Championship appearances.

The move to Coventry will allow the London-born midfielder to play in a better side, who aren't chopping and changing the manager all the time, and he should thrive and record some decent numbers at the CBS Arena.
