Once a wonderkid at Lyon and Monaco, Willem Geubbels (23) is now a sought-after name in England after a stellar 2024/25 season with FC St. Gallen in Switzerland. The former France U21 international is drawing serious attention from both Premier League and Championship clubs, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Southampton, Sheffield United, Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have all registered interest ahead of the summer window. Their scouts have been tracking Geubbels closely in recent months, impressed by his blend of pace, movement, and finishing. In Germany, Union Berlin and FC Köln are among the clubs monitoring his progress. At least one of the clubs is preparing a concrete approach in the coming weeks.
Geubbels finished the season as the third-highest scorer in the Swiss Super League with 14 league goals and added 3 more in European competition, playing a key role in an otherwise underwhelming season for mid-table St. Gallen. He was rewarded with a place in the division’s Team of the Season and was named Best Forward of the Season by Swiss broadcaster Blue Sport.
After two years in Switzerland, the former €20m Monaco signing has re-emerged as a reliable, fit and maturing attacking threat. In total, he’s scored 27 goals and provided 8 assists in 92 appearances across all competitions for the club, putting to rest persistent concerns about his fitness and consistency.GFFN | George Boxall
