Jan Bednarek has been urged by a legend in his country Poland to to secure a transfer away from Southampton this month.

It is clear to see Southampton are a laughing stock right now. The Saints are bottom of the Premier League table and they only had their January transfer window strategy meeting two days ago, despite it being the seventh day of the January transfer window being open back then.

However, there is concern for the Southampton players. Of course, there are a few diamonds in the rough who will surely get a move away from the club if (when) Southampton are relegated at the end of the season.

According to a Polish legend Jacek Bąk, Jan Bednarek should be one of them.

In a report published by Sport Witness, they cite a report from Super Express in which Poland legend Jacek Bąk has encouraged Jan Bednarek to leave Southampton for a better club.

In his own words, Bąk said: “He should try his hand at a much better club, go to Italy or France. I think he could have proven himself in a slightly better club. He is conscientious, reliable. He could take a different direction. Italy? France? He has the potential to play in a team that fights in European cups."

Bąk made 96 appearances for the Poland international team, playing in the same position which Jan Bednarek currently represents. Therefore, he has his countryman's best interest at heart, since he remains a fan of the Poland team.

Southampton will look to sell players in the January transfer window. New head coach Ivan Jurić has already pointed out the need to reduce squad numbers, which is perhaps a priority over welcoming new players in.

However, Bednarek is unlikely to be one of those players to leave Southampton. If anything, he is one of the most important players to Southampton between now and the end of the season.
