Southampton parted ways with forward Che Adams after the 2023/24 season. And as was feared has happened as Adams is putting up a show in Serie A, being close to a stunning goal tally.

Don't you think Southampton’s luck has been quite harsh recently? Sure, they've made some questionable moves, but the price the Saints have had to pay for it has been steep.

Just look at this. Recently, Burnley eliminated the Saints in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Unsurprisingly, it was another game where they looked convincing, except for the results.

Ivan Juric's side did it almost correctly but lacked sharpness upfront to convert their chances. Now, what if I told you things could’ve gone differently, if not for a questionable move last season?

At the end of the 2023/24 season, Southampton couldn't convince prolific forward Che Adams and he left on a free transfer. The result is that Adams is netting for fun at Torino and the Saints struggle.

Interestingly for Torino, and sadly for Southampton, the Scottish International is approaching a milestone goal figure.

As per Toro News, ex-Southampton forward Che Adams feels in reach to make his debut Torino Season his best ever in the Top flight. After just 23 appearances, he has 7 goals and needs two more to surpass his best Saints campaign.

Further, the 28-year-old has an improved goal-minute ratio, better than in his 9-goal campaign at Southampton.

Now, some might say his presence wouldn't have been decisive due to inconsistencies, but here's a stat for them. In comparison, Adams tallied 8 goals in his worst-ever season, more than the current Saints lead scorer.

It's loud and clear, Southampton's decision not to stress on Adams' stay has cost them big time. Now, it’s just a matter of seeing how much this transfer will bite them further.
