Sky Sport Italia reports that Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag is in direct contact with Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee who has become the Red Devils’ top target in attack.

Manchester United have emerged as a serious threat to Milan in the race for Bologna star Zirkzee.

The terms for signing the Dutch striker are pretty simple. He has a €40m clause valid for any club, but his agent, Kia Joorabhcian, demands a €15m commission on top of that.

This is why talks between the striker’s representative and Milan are stalling. The Rossoneri are ready to match the Zirkzee’s clause but want to pay a lower commission fee.

Italian sources claim Zirkzee has prioritised a move to a top Serie A club, ideally Milan, to continue his development, but Sky Sport Italia claims Manchester United are keen on the 23-year-old.

According to the report, Ten Hag has personally called the Netherlands international and put him at the top of his transfer shortlist.

Manchester United already signed a promising Serie A striker last year when Rasmus Hojlund moved to Old Trafford from Atalanta in a €75m deal.
