Alexis Saelemaekers has emerged as one of AS Roma’s top priorities in recent weeks, and talks have begun with AC Milan for the Belgian.
Paulo Fonseca ummed and arred about a decision to send Saelemaekers on loan in the summer, but it was eventually decided that a move away from Milan was the best deal for all parties, especially with the Rossoneri getting Tammy Abraham on loan.
Unfortunately, the Giallorossi have probably got the better side of the deal so far, despite Saelemaekers missing large parts of the season.
Since returning from his injury, the Belgian has been superb for the Roman outfit and has been decisive on a few occasions, including the Derby della Capitale. For this reason, there has been heavy interest in making his loan spell permanent.
Discussions have already started to take place, and the Lupi have already made their desires known. Included in these talks have also been offers of a player swap, with Bryan Cristante and even Tammy Abraham being mentioned. However, the Diavolo have their eyes elsewhere.
As Sky (via Milan News) reports, Matias Soule is sought by Milan, and the Rossoneri would have ‘thought’ about a deal if he was included. However, the Giallorossi refused to even consider that.
