Windass potentially has another chance to move abroad in 2025.

Sheffield Wednesday attacker Josh Windass is being linked with a move to join Carlos Corberan's Valencia side this summer.
Spanish reports have suggested that the 31-year-old is a player of interest to the La Liga outfit, who are managed by West Bromwich Albion's former boss. Windass came close to joining the Baggies last summer, by his own admission, before committing his short-term future to the Owls.
He was asked about the links on the Open Goal podcast to which he said he wasn't aware of Valencia's interest. His stay at Hillsborough was extended by Wednesday when they recently triggered a one-year option in his deal. This came after his father, former EFL player Dean Windass, hinted that he'd be leaving the club this summer.
This isn't the first time that Windass has had an overseas offer. Brazilian club Santos reportedly came in for him in the winter window, but no move came to fruition.
Patrick McKenna, Football League World's Wednesday fan pundit, can certainly see why a player like Windass may be tempted to take such a move to Spain, but he doesn't think it's a realistic option.
"I can certainly see him being interested by this," said McKenna. "Why wouldn't you be? Valencia are a historic club. I remember growing up watching them in Champions League finals and consistently challenging at the top of La Liga.
"They aren't at that level at the minute but they are still in La Liga, which you could easily argue is the best league in the world. Some of the teams and players that you'd be coming up against would be a massive step up from the Championship. Your Real Madrid's, your Barcelona's, your Atletico Madrid's, your Villareal's. What an opportunity that would be!
"Of course you could also have the argument that he's a fan of the sun and moving to a country with warmer weather and the chance to take in a new culture and way of life.
"All of these things that I've mentioned would be very tempting. The only thing that could possibly put him off the move is, would he be getting regular game time for Valencia? I'm not sure he would, so does he want to move from a club where he is regularly playing and is one of the key players to being more of a fringe player, especially at this stage of his career?
"It's a crucial stage. He still has a few years to offer and you don't want your career petering out while you're playing less and less games.
"Naturally it's a move that any player would be tempted by, but there is that argument that he has to think about - how good would it be from a footballing point of view? To be honest, I'm not quite sure that this would be a goer anyway. I'm not convinced that it's something that will go through."
A career as a footballer is a very short one. The lucky ones get 15 years at a good level before father time really starts to kick in.
Windass, at 31, has some miles left on the clock, but not a tonne, and almost certainly not enough that he'd potentially be able to play for one of Spain's top clubs, with a manager that he'll already know the vast ability of.
It's a chance that may not come around again, and a lot of the signs from his dad and the fact he's been on a one-year deal this season, and will be again next time around, doesn't suggest he's overly confident in the Wednesday project.
That belief will only be dented by the current uncertainty surrounding manager Danny Rohl, who has been linked with a number of other jobs this summer.
