Sevilla turn attentions towards departing Real Sociedad boss Imanol | OneFootball

The board at Sevilla have set their sights on the signature of a manager long revered at a rival La Liga club.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing ABC, who highlight Imanol as the tactician in question.

Spaniard Imanol is of course all set to bring his long-standing love affair with Real Sociedad to a close upon the conclusion of the campaign.

Having made the somewhat surprising decision not to sign a new contract, the 53-year-old will bid farewell to Anoeta after seven years in charge.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then Imanol may not be out of work for long…

After the former full-back recently announced in a press conference that he is open to proposals surrounding new projects, another of La Liga’s clubs have positioned themselves in the hunt for his signature.

As per MD:

‘According to El Desmarque and ABC Sevilla, Imanol has emerged as a candidate for the Sevilla bench and to steer their project, and is among the favourites.’

The Orio native is held in high regard by those behind the scenes at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, who, amid an ongoing search for a new head coach, are giving serious consideration to making an approach to his entourage over the weeks ahead.
