Sevilla star Dodi Lukebakio has taken to social media late this week, to send a message of apology the way of the club’s supporters.

This comes after an outing to forget for the Belgian on Thursday.

Afforded a starting berth in Sevilla’s La Liga trip to Pamplona to face Osasuna, Lukebakio was given his marching orders by way of a straight red card during the first-half.

This came after the 27-year-old was adjudged to have lashed out at Osasuna’s Alejandro Catena.

Dragged back by the latter in his efforts to run towards goal, Lukebakio swung his arm back, with Catena’s immediate drop to the turf having seen referee Cordero Vega show little hesitation in producing a red card.

Sevilla are expected to appeal the decision, adamant that sufficient evidence was not forthcoming of their attacking star’s offence.

And as alluded to above, Lukebakio has himself since weighed in on the situation. As revealed by Mundo Deportivo, the winger first took to social media, to write:

“To make errors is human, but with VAR there are no excuses. It’s unacceptable.”

But after this message was soon deleted, Lukebakio followed up with another more level-headed one, as follows:

“It truly hurts, I’m so sorry, Sevilla fans. The love you give me is unquestionable!”
