CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – JUNE 30: Alessandro Bastoni #95 and Nicolo Barella #23 of FC Internazionale Milano warm up prior to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 round of 16 match between FC Internazionale Milano and Fluminense FC at Bank of America Stadium on June 30, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Nerazzurri already made their debut under new coach Cristian Chivu at the FIFA Club World Cup, but this is the start of the campaign aiming to avoid ending empty-handed again.

Choices are limited, because Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Pio Esposito are both suspended, with Carlos Augusto and Davide Frattesi not fully fit.

Federico Dimarco was also in doubt after picking up a muscular problem during the friendly win over Olympiacos, but Kristjan Asllani only completed his transfer from Inter to Torino today.

The only summer signing in the starting XI is Petar Sucic, with Barella therefore given a new deep-lying midfield playmaker role.

Despite being linked with a departure, Benjamin Pavard starts in defence.
