Inter have plenty of work to do if they are to win their 21st Scudetto, with the odds seemingly stacked against them.
Although the Nerazzurri were handed a glimmer of hope after Napoli’s surprise draw to Genoa two weeks ago, they remained a point behind the league leaders after round 37, collecting a home draw against Lazio. The odds aren’t necessarily in their favour, especially when comparing who they have to face in the remaining Serie A fixture.
It has presented an opportunity for fans to place wagers on the title race, with sports betting a popular activity in Italy and abroad. European football markets are widely enjoyed, especially when it comes to Italian football, because of the calibre of the teams involved.
Operators continue to look to streamline the markets and odds they offer, using specific APIs to communicate and exchange data. The availability of betting widgets has allowed operators to continue to seamlessly integrate their services with their content management systems (CMS) and optimise their business offerings with real-time analytics to improve their products.
With the battle for the Serie A title ahead, it’s clear that bookmakers will need to provide a faultless experience to their customers across the final two gameweeks, especially after what happened with Napoli in GW 36.
Will Inter Milan Catch Napoli & Be Victorious?
You can never count Inter Milan out; that much is clear after last week’s heroics in the UEFA Champions League. Everyone thought they were down and out against FC Barcelona after Raphinha’s late goal, before Francesco Acerbi netted to force extra time.
Still, the race that they are running at the moment is perhaps a little more out of their hands, hence why the odds being offered are slightly against them by bookmakers who use the services of Odds88. Indeed, their destiny isn’t in their own hands when looking at the remaining match.

After their recent 2-2 draw against Lazio, the Nerazzurri will travel to Como to meet Cesc Fabregas’ Como 1907. This side has been impressive in their first season back in the Serie A after a 21-year absence. They sit midtable and have proven very difficult to beat. They are also unbeaten in their last seven league fixtures, having won the last six in a row.
While Napoli slipped up against Genoa and Parma, they have a much easier schedule on paper. Their next opponents, Cagliari, in fact, secured survival in the latest round and will be travelling to Napoli after days of celebrations and nothing to play for.
Still, Napoli’s form has been excellent over the last few months. Antonio Conte’s side last lost a league game back in February (away at Como). Since then, they’ve gone unbeaten in 10, including six wins. A draw against Inter had also taken place immediately after the defeat to Como. With 23 wins this season, ten draws, and four losses, it’s clear slip-ups don’t happen often. February was their worst month in terms of results, drawing three and losing one. Fabio Capello has recently admitted that he doesn’t expect the club from Naples to do so again in the final two games of the season.
Will Inter work some magic once again?
Simone Inzaghi’s side will be doing everything that they can to retain their Serie A title and become Scudetto champions for the 21st time in club history. As we know, football has a habit of producing the miraculous and the unexpected.
As long as they win their two remaining games, that’s all they can do to put pressure on a team that finished 10th last season. Both teams will play their remaining fixtures at the same time on the same day. The Nerazzurri’s destiny is out of their own hands, but if they do what they need to do, they’ll give themselves half a chance of becoming champions once again.
The final run-in of the Italian Serie A 2024/25 season will be incredible for neutrals and extremely tense for fans of the two teams. However, that’s what makes this European football league one of the very best in the world.
