One Serie A side are now looking at not one but TWO Chelsea players to potentially come in and bolster their squad in the January window.
As we head well into December now, transfer talk and rumours will increase and as always, Chelsea’s name will be heavily out there around any business that could happen.
I can’t foresee Chelsea doing too much business next month in reality, but there could be one or two players looking to leave, players who are just not getting anywhere near as many minutes as they would like to be getting right now.
I’d be shocked if Ben Chilwell is still a Chelsea player at the end of the winter window, as he has well and truly been left out in the cold by the club. But others such as Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka haven’t played muhc either, especially the latter.
I think I can see Chukwuemeka and Chilwell leaving the club next month if they can find suitors. And could one of those potential suitors be Lazio? Maybe.
You have to feel for Carney
According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio recently held internal meetings and agreed the club needs to sign a new midfielder in January, ideally one under the age of 22.
The source mentions Valentin Atangana, a 19-year-old Frenchman who’s making a name for himself at Reims, as well as Spartak Trnava’s Adrian Zeljkovic, in addition to Chelsea duo Cesare Casadei and Carney Chuckwuemeka.
I don’t think Chelsea would let Casadei go at the moment, but I do think Chukwuemeka would go in an instant if an offer came in that was suitable. He will surely be pushing to leave as well as the poor guy just needs to play football.
