Tied at 13 points, Juventus and Lazio lock horns at the Allianz Stadium to gain an advantage over each other.
Juventus arrive at this match as the only undefeated side in Serie A this season. The Bianconeri produced a dramatic finish to their Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig a few weeks back when goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Francisco Conceicao nullified Benjamin Sesko’s double to hand the visitors the three points. However, they failed to keep the momentum on the right track and followed the win with a 1-1 draw against Cagliari.
Thiago Motta played a key role in introducing academy players to first-team action during this campaign as he fielded Nicolo Savona and Samuel Mbangula against Cagliari.
While Juventus boasts a formidable record, they have failed to win each of their last three home matches in the Serie A. Such runs have previously proved fatal to the Old Lady and they will hope to come away with a win this weekend over Lazio.
Meanwhile, Lazio head into this game on the back of a 2-1 victory against Empoli. Sebastiano Esposito’s 9th-minute strike wind down the hosts’ clamour but they initiated the comeback just before half-time through Mattia Zaccagni’s goal. The Biancocelesti left it late to grab the winner when Pedro pounced on the opportunity created by Valentin Castellanos.
Lazio have scored seven goals over their two Europa League fixtures and have won each of their last four matches. Apart from the 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina, Marco Baroni’s men have stayed flawless till now in the campaign.
