Despite their shakiness, Milan had started to generate some momentum in the first six weeks of the new year, remaining undefeated as they secured wins over Roma, Napoli and Udinese. The 4-2 loss to Monza last month started to change things, however, and they followed that up with a 1-1 draw with Atalanta.

The Rossoneri’s only injury is midfielder Tommaso Pobega, who won’t return until mid April due to a serious knee issue. Luka Jovic is also unavailable through disqualification.

Lazio have been all over the place in recent weeks; wins over Torino, Bayern Munich and Cagliari have been undermined by losses to Fiorentina, Bologna and Atalanta, leaving the team eighth in the Serie A table with 12 games left to play.

Maurizio Sarri cannot count on Patric and Nicolo Rovella against Milan, reducing the options at Lazio a little.

When these two teams met back in September, Milan secured a 2-0 win over Lazio after goals from Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor.

Probable line-ups for Lazio vs Milan

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Hysaj; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.
