There are mixed reports on whether Gianluca Scamacca or Mateo Retegui will start against Switzerland this evening, so Football Italia asks you to decide who Luciano Spalletti should pick.

Italy meet Switzerland in the EURO 2024 Round of 16 this evening in Berlin.

It kicks off at 18:00 CET, 16:00 GMT at the Olympiastadion, where the Azzurri won the 2006 World Cup in a Final against France.

Italy’s starting XI is pretty much settled, with Nicolò Fagioli replacing Jorginho in central midfield, Gianluca Mancini starting in place of the suspended Riccardo Calafiori and Stephan El Shaarawy making his debut in the tournament.

The only doubt for Spalletti is whether Scamacca or Retegui will start as a centre-forward.

Scamacca was included in the starting XI against Albania and Spain and has produced the only shot on target from an Italian centre-forward so far in the tournament.

Retegui, on the other hand, started against Croatia on Monday alongside Giacomo Raspadori.

Spalletti tried the Napoli striker as a centre-forward during some training sessions this week, but he’s not a candidate to start. Spalletti said yesterday that his only doubt is between Scamacca and Retegui.
