Ahead of next week’s Coppa Italia clash against Roma, Sampdoria have announced the dismissal of head coach Andrea Sottil, marking their second managerial switch of the season.
The decision, made official via a club statement, ends Sottil’s four-month spell with the Ligurians and comes after a heavy 5-1 defeat to Sassuolo—leaving the team 15th in the Serie B table.
“U.C. Sampdoria announces that Andrea Sottil has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team,” Samp announced on their website.
“The club extends its gratitude to the coach and his staff—Gianluca Cristaldi, Salvatore Gentile, and Matteo Tomei—for their dedication and professionalism during their time with the team.”
The Blucerchiati will face the Giallorossi on Wednesday, 18 December in the Coppa Italia Round of 16.
