Salvadorian referee Ivan Barton fared well in last night’s FIFA Club World Cup clash between Inter Milan and Fluminense.
Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Barton’s decisions were spot-on in every crucial situation.
Unfortunately, Inter couldn’t reach the quarter-finals as Fluminense ran out 2-0 victors at the Bank of America Stadium.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu’s side shot themselves in the foot after only two minutes.
Stefan de Vrij made a huge mistake, helping German Cano put Fluminense in front.
Despite having over 90 minutes to bounce back, Inter couldn’t turn the game on its head.

The first controversial moment in last night’s match came in the 26th minute.
Indeed, Juan Freytes mistimed his tackle on Matteo Darmian, leading Inter to believe they could get a penalty.
However, the challenge was outside the box, resulting in a free kick.
Meanwhile, Fluminense had thought they went 2-0 up before halftime when Ignacio headed home from point-blank range.
Yet, after a brief VAR review, Barton disallowed the goal for offside.
Finally, he booked Fluminense boss Renato Gaucho for an attempt to delay the play toward the end of the first half.
