Taylor Harwood-Bellis has linked up with Southampton and his injury is suspected to be a nominal one. Yet, given Bednarek's flurry of injuries, the Saints need not get carried away with excitement.
Right now, Arsenal winning the Premier League seems more likely than Southampton fans having a stress-free time this season. After all, every time our happiness has come disguised as a disappointment.
Just days ago, we placed huge hopes on Ramsdale and the Saints, only to watch them crumble against Wolves.
And now, just when international call-ups gave us something to cheer about, Southampton have been hit with yet another injury, this time to star defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Well, that's why, I would recommend you take a positive Harwood-Bellis update with a pinch of salt only.
So, the good news is that as per Daily Echo reports, the 23-year-old's injury isn't a worrying one. In fact, he still remains in contention to participate in Southampton's Crystal Palace matchday.
Now, you may think, then why shouldn’t we be too excited? Notably, the answer to this lies in Jan Bednarek's injury-stricken campaign.
The Southampton faithful is well aware of the Poland ace's fatigues which have been monotonous, to say the least. Also, they rule out any guarantees that he or any of his teammates wouldn't sustain any further physical discomforts from now until the end of the season.
As you know, it doesn't take much guessing that Southampton's Premier League task is far from finished even though they are sure to drop down. Now, imagine if they have to handle further games without Harwood-Bellis and Jan Bednarek, then they must be prepared to add some laughable accolades to their name.
A string of standout defensive efforts could still restore Southampton's self-respect and let's hope they indeed do.
