Among the players who have benefited most from Claudio Ranieri’s arrival, Alexis Saelemaekers stands out.
The Belgian winger, protagonist in the comeback against Como with the goal that reopened the match, is having one of the best seasons of his career.
After overcoming the ankle injury that kept him sidelined from September to November, he has found a consistency of performance that has led him to score 6 goals in the league, his personal best in a single season.
In an interview with Idealista, partner of Roma, he spoke about his adaptation to the capital: “I’m happy here. I found an environment that welcomed me with great affection and fans who supported me straight away. This was very important for me.”
Despite his excellent performances, Saelemaekers’ future at Roma remains up in the air, writes Il Tempo.
Having arrived on loan from Milan in a swap that saw Tammy Abraham temporarily move to the Rossoneri, his buy option is currently on hold.
The final decision will also depend on the choice of Milan’s next sporting director, whose arrival could influence negotiations between the two clubs.
