Ruben Amorim has warned Manchester United's players and supporters that they will continue to suffer until the end of the season.
United's 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion was their sixth home Premier League reverse of the season and fourth under Amorim's management.
The Portuguese boss pulled no punches in his post-match media duties, suggesting United's current squad may be the worst in the 147-year history of the club. And he warned that more pain may be ahead for everybody concerned, reaffirming that he will not alter his beliefs and methods in order to turn things around.
"That is clear for me. With me, it's clear I'm not going to change the way I see the game," Amorim said, when asked if it was time to do things differently. "I'm very clear on that. The players will suffer and the fans are going to suffer. I'm really sorry, I have one way of doing things.
"We need to survive this moment and it's very clear for everybody what we are going to do. I've explained this situation. I will play the way I play because that was the idea. I was very clear in everything, with the fans, the board and everybody.

"They knew what to expect with me. But it's not the important thing, it's not acceptable to lose so many games. In five games at home, to lose four and win one, is really hard for any club. Imagine it at Manchester United - so we need to improve."
Amorim's honesty led him to admit that United "have to be a different team" if they are to make any progress, with the former Sporting CP boss conceding that things were far too easy a Brighton side who are now just four points away from the Premier League's top four.
"You have to understand the moment but understand also that it is not to lose so many games in the Premier League, no matter the situation. No matter the moment. It should not happen," Amorim said.
"They were comfortable and we tried with not very good football. You can see this game and remember nothing. We cannot also end the game like that, with everybody out of position. So we have to end the game in a different way. No matter the result, we have to be a different team."
