There are quite a few promising Manchester United academy stars who are already in the first team, while a few are close to a senior breakthrough.
The Peoples Peoples has relayed that Ruben Amorim wants to take quite a few academy wonderkids with him during pre-season to see which of them are ready for first-team football.
Decisions on loan and permanent exits will be taken after that. Now, as per Givemesport, the Portuguese tactician wants to take Enzo Kana-Biyik with the first team to the US.
The Le Havre teenager recently agreed a deal with the Red Devils and as per previous reports, he was supposed to be loaned out to FC Lausanne-Sport, another INEOS-owned club.
But that could now change with the United head coach eager to see first-hand what the 18-year-old can produce.
The report mentions that Amorim wants the player to get accustomed to his future home while also coming to grips with the expectations and demands at a club like United.
“Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is seriously considering whether to include Enzo Kana-Biyik in his pre-season tour plans after succeeding in reaching an agreement to lure the Le Havre teenager to Old Trafford ahead of the transfer window officially opening for business, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.
“Kana-Biyik could be involved in Manchester United’s pre-season tour plans, according to GMS sources, as Amorim is tempted to reward him with an early opportunity to feel part of the squad and gain an understanding of the environment they are trying to build at Old Trafford as preparations are made for the 2025/26 campaign.”
The France U18 international has scored 9 goals in 16 games this season for Le Havre’s youth side, which prompted interest from multiple clubs but the Red Devils ultimately won the race.
He will officially join the 20-time English league champions once the window opens and will sign a five-year contract which includes an option for an additional year.
It will be interesting to see if the French talent can even end up changing United’s mind about a loan exit and possibly even staying on given the lack of options up top.
United will travel to Sweden and the United States for pre-season fixtures, including playing in the Premier League summer series for the first time.
