Ruben Amorim has admitted a decision is still yet to be made regarding his proposed move to Manchester United.

Sporting CP confirmed on Tuesday that United had voiced a desire to pay €10m to trigger the Portuguese manager's release clause following the inevitable departure of Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman had fallen out of favour at Old Trafford after consistent poor results, despite being given a contract extension in July off the back of the club's lowest ever Premier League finish.

Sporting boss Amorim quickly became the lead target to take over in Manchester after impressing in Liga Portugal.

However, Amorim has since admitted his future is not finalised at United, revealing he will do 'what he wants to do'.

"Listen to the club statement and that's all there is at the moment," he told reporters at a news conference on Tuesday. "There's interest from Manchester United in paying a clause and then, when I have something more concrete, I'll come here and make a decision because it's always my choice, as long as everything hasn't been decided one way or the other.

"I'll do what I want, what I want to do, as I've always done throughout my time as a player and coach.

"No decision has been made at the moment."

United take on Leicester City on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup before facing Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, with former forward Ruud van Nistelrooy expected to be in the dugout for both clashes.
