PSG's win over Inter Miami protects Cristiano’s all-time tournament scoring lead
Ronaldo Keeps Club World Cup Goal Record After Messi Exit
Cristiano Ronaldo remains the all time top scorer in FIFA Club World cup history, thanks to Paris Saint Germain’s 4 - 0 win over Inter Miami which eliminated Lionel Messi & Luis Suarez from the competition.
Ronaldo’s tally of 7 goal in past editions remains unmatched. His closest rivals, Messi 6 & Suarez 5, were knocked out in the Round of 16 ending their chances of surpassing the Portuguese star in the 2025 tournament held in the U.S.
The Club World cup also saw Angel Di Maria exit early after Benfica’s 4 - 1 loss to Chelsea leaving him stuck on 4 goals in his career total.
However new challengers have emerged including Michael Olise & Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich, each with 3 goal so far. While Ronaldo hasn't played in the competition since 2017, his record may come under threat if the Bayern duo continue their scoring run.
