Roma are at work to present the definitive project for their new stadium that is to be built in the Pietralata area of the Italian capital.
According to Il Mesaggero, the club has presented the mobility plan for the new Pietralata stadium, confirming the goal of depositing the final project at the Campidoglio by the end of April.
The plan focuses on public transport, private roads and parking, ensuring efficient access to the facility.
According to the plan, 55% of fans will reach the stadium by public transport, while only 12% will arrive by car.
In addition, 15% will use the subway or train, with particular reference to the Tiburtina station, which connects various areas of Rome and Fiumicino airport.
The Metro B line will be strengthened with a new entrance at the Quintiliani stop, capable of accommodating around 9,000 fans.
The Tiburtina station, on the other hand, will be able to handle up to 10,600 fans, but requires an adaptation of the turnstiles to facilitate access.
The project includes the construction of 6,259 parking spaces and 5,713 motorcycle spaces near the stadium. In addition, cycle and pedestrian bridges will be built to improve safety and reduce the impact on traffic.
These infrastructures will be designed to avoid interference with the railway network and ensure an orderly flow of fans.
The question of collaboration with Ferrovie dello Stato, which has planned a parking area in the Tiburtina area, in conflict with the 1,565 motorcycle spaces planned by Roma, remains open.
In addition, the Quintiliani stop on Metro B could undergo changes: initially planned only for the entrance of fans, Roma hopes for an expansion that also allows them to exit.
The main objective of the plan is to encourage the use of public transport to avoid traffic congestion in the surrounding area, particularly near the Pertini hospital.
