AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham is set to join Turkish giants Besiktas this summer, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The English centre-forward spent the last season on loan at AC Milan, but they have opted against a permanent move.

He struggled to nail down a starting role with Rossoneri, bagging 10 goals and seven goals in all competitions.

He was crucial in Milan’s Italian Super Cup triumph after scoring in the final against arch-rivals Inter Milan.

The 27-year-old has now reached an agreement with Besiktas after learning that he is not in Roma’s new manager Gian Piero Gasperini’s plans.

Abraham moved to the Stadio Olimpico from Chelsea in a deal worth £34 million at the request of former manager Jose Mourinho in 2021.

He has registered 37 goals and 13 assists in 120 games for the Giallorossi and was instrumental in the Europa Conference League title victory in 2021/22.

Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg were showing concrete interest, but Abraham has accepted Besiktas’ proposal.

Giallorossi will pocket around €20 million from his sale.

Abraham will link up with former Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer at Besiktas.

The Norwegian has been looking to sign a striker in the transfer window due to Ciro Immobile’s imminent departure.

The Italian striker, who netted 15 goals and four assists in the Super Lig last season, is set for a return to Serie A, with Bologna leading the race to sign him.

Abraham will spearhead Besiktas’ attack next season and will be key in the Europa League qualifiers.
