Ranieri’s Roma are making the best of their wingers, and Alexis Saelemaekers is a prime example.

After a long injury-hit start to the season, the Belgian found the back of the net consistently, scoring his fifth league goal in the win over Monza, thus surpassing his personal best record.

A result that takes on even more value considering that he had to miss more than two months of matches due to an ankle injury, suffered in Genoa in the last match with De Rossi on the bench.

Although he had shown a decline in performance before scoring against Monza, his offensive productivity is now an essential resource for Roma. Not only for his goals, but also for his decisive crosses.

This development has prompted the club to intensify contacts with Milan to transform his loan into a permanent transfer.

In July, the two clubs had agreed on a “contract of honor” that would have allowed Roma to buy Saelemaekers for 8 million euros. However, the arrival of a new coach at Milan has changed the scenarios, and now the conditions must be reviewed.

Despite the rumors about his future, Saelemaekers said he is happy at Roma.

At the moment, however, Corriere dello Sport reports that Milan has not yet given the green light for the transfer.

The uncertainty remains, but Roma is ready to speed up the negotiations to make the Belgian a permanent signing.
