Midfielder Davide Frattesi still wants to leave Inter Milan despite his appearance against Venezia yesterday.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, trace the 25-year-old’s determination to leave to last month’s Serie A clash with Como.
Frattesi’s situation at Inter has come under the spotlight in recent weeks.
Reports suggest that the Italian international has decided that he wants out. The reason for this is a lack of playing time, and he wants to join a club where he’ll start regularly.
Yesterday, Frattesi did come off the bench for Inter against Venezia.
The former Sassuolo midfielder helped the Nerazzurri see out a 1-0 Serie A victory.
That was perhaps a sign that Frattesi is still not completely out of the Inter project. A sale is hardly imminent at this stage.
However, the Gazzetta report, that substitute appearance has not changed Frattesi’s mind.
The fact that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi decided not to start Frattesi against Como last month, and instead opted to rush Nicolo Barella, was decisive.
That was the moment that Frattesi realized that he would never really have the chance to stake out a starting place for himself at the Nerazzurri under Inzaghi.
Therefore, the Italian international remains keen on an exit. Possibly as early as during the January transfer window.
However, the Gazzetta report, no official offers have yet arrived.
Inter would want €45 million to sell Frattesi to Roma. And €70 million to Napoli, considering their reluctance to strengthen direct title rivals.
