Roma want to secure an additional defender for Gian Piero Gasperini.

The technician has made his requests clear: he wants Jhon Lucumi of Bologna.

The defender has a contract with Bologna until 2026 and, given his excellent season in Emilia, has attracted the attention of several clubs.

The rossoblu, however, currently have no intention of selling either him or Beukema (who Napoli are interested in), which is why the only way to avoid a negotiation is to pay the €28 million release clause in the contract.

According to Sky Sport, Roma are evaluating this option: the money to pay would be a lot, but avoiding a negotiation could speed up the time for his arrival, thus giving Gasperini another piece for his defence.
