Roma and Man City put talks for Echeverri on hold | OneFootball

It’s now common knowledge that Roma have identified Claudio Echeverri as their top target for the second striker role.

The Argentine forward is very keen on joining the Giallorossi, but Manchester City is holding back.

Despite the player’s pressure to join Matias Soulé and Paulo Dybala in the capital, Pep Guardiola’s team wants to send their young talent on loan to Girona, part of the City Group.

According to Tuttosport, the Giallorossi’s offer was very attractive: a €2 million loan, a €33 million option to buy, which would become an obligation under certain conditions, plus a percentage of the future sale and a buyout fee to the Citizens.

The deal has currently been put on hold, and Frederic Massara is working on other options.

Shakhtar’s Eguinaldo is the first name on the sporting director’s list as an alternative.
