Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has on Sunday etched his name into club history.
As much comes owing to his exploits in Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés.
Hansi Flick’s troops, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to Mendizorroza with hopes of reestablishing their three-point advantage atop the Spanish top-flight table.
And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what Barca managed.
The aforementioned Lewandowski, meanwhile, proved himself the star of the show, notching all three of the Blaugrana’s goals en route to a 3-0 triumph.
Not only that, but the Polish veteran’s hat-trick came within the space of the opening 32 minutes, enough to secure for Lewandowski a special piece of history.
As revealed by statisticians Opta:
‘Lewandowski is the Barcelona player to have scored the fourth earliest hat-trick in a LaLiga game ever.’
The only three players to have managed as much at an earlier point in a league outing? Samuel Eto’o, Justo Tejada, and Lionel Messi.
