A laudable performance by his team couldn't help coach Rik De Mil from being disappointed with the scoreless draw at the Kempen.

“I also wander how it's possible", Rik De Mil kicked off his press talk. "With so many chances created, you just have to score. When I see how my team played today, I just know that this is what I want to see. Dominance, forward pressure, fine possession, creating chances, keeping a clean sheet (for the fourth time in five games).... That's what we want, but you should also reward yourself after such a performance and score. I expect so much of the boys, to be able to remain high upfield and not to back away. You see that it helps you to ask a fine playing team questions and remain dominant in the game. It's such a shame that we didn't reward ourselves. But well... we grab that point here and are really disappointed with it, but I'm very pleased with the type of football I saw. It's such a shame that we created so many chances but didn't find a way to make the most of them. Aside from that, there's also that first half penalty situation I would like to take a look at. There's so much debate, and to be honest, I often don't konw it myself anymore as a coach. In Mechelen we were awarded a spot kick, but here we weren't, as the reasoning was that it was the supporting arm. You just don't know anymore, but it's the type of details that can decide on a game. On the other hand, we shouldn't be looking at the refs or at the VAR, but we just need to finish those chances off ourselves."

The press also hinted on a reaction by Mignolet, praising the work coach De Mil has done till now. "I'm pleased to here, but I have always said that this is work we perform "together". To me, it was vital to get everyone back in line: board, fans, players, ... When I see how my team performed today, I see a reflection of this desire. But when you want to grab some results, you also have to boost efficiency. That will be something we need to work on in the coming weeks, but I'm happy to see the team and the fans on the same line again." Coach De Mil still believes it can turn out well. "I definitely still believe in it, and I also said as much in the dressing room. It's not over until the fat lady sings, whatever the result of the Ghent game tomorrow. Of course I realise it'll be difficult, and that we haven't made it any easier on ourselves today. I keep believing it's not over just yet, and I also told my players that this is the kind of Club Brugge we need to start seeing in every single game", a combattive Club coach concluded. (TM)
