Denzel Dumfries is suspended in next Monday’s Serie A match against Fiorentina, after being booked in the derby between AC Milan and Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Dutchman will not miss Thursday’s away clash with La Viola.
Inter wingback Dumfries received a yellow card in yesterday’s Serie A clash with Milan.
The 28-year-old had been one booking away from suspension going into the match.
Therefore, Dumfries will have to receive a one-match suspension.
However, the Gazzetta note, the Dutchman will not serve the suspension in Inter’s next match.
Inter’s next match is away to Fiorentina. They travel to Florence on Thursday.
However, it will not be an ordinary match.

Rather, the two teams are finally playing the match that had kicked off on December 1st. However, that match was postponed.
This due to a medical emergency for midfielder Edoardo Bove.
Therefore, it is not technically starting as a new match. The two teams will essentially pick up where they left off. New signings can’t play.
And suspensions are served in the subsequent match.
As such, Denzel Dumfries will miss Inter’s next match. By coincidence, that is at home to Fiorentina next Monday.
