For the moment, Buchanan is still a player who will be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

The 25-year-old suffered a very serious injury during the summer. He broke his leg in training while with the Canadian national team at the Copa America.

Therefore, Buchanan had to undergo surgery as part of his recovery.

And over the last couple months, Buchanan has been healing from his major injury.

However, yesterday news emerged that the 25-year-old had returned to training on the pitch for the first time since suffering his leg break.

A return is now very much in sight for Buchanan, although naturally there is still some way to go.

Tajon Buchanan Could Return For Inter In October

Buchanan certainly will not be making any appearances in the month of September.

Inter have a busy month ahead of them when they return from the international break. There are four Serie A matches, and then two in the Champions League.

But then, things won’t let up in October either.

And according to the Corriere, it is next month that Buchanan could make his return. This will certainly come as a big boost in terms of the depth in the wingback positions.

The former versatile Club Brugge player was a bit of a surprise inclusion in Inter’s Champions League squad list.

However, the likely return timeline makes it more explicable why Buchanan is in the squad despite still being out for at least a few more weeks.

Buchanan will certainly miss Inter’s first few Champions League match.

However, the Canadian should be able to play a role in the Nerazzurri’s European fixtures in the late fall and winter.

Buchanan joined Inter during the January transfer window. The Canadian made a number of substitute appearances last season and scored his first goal, but is yet to start for the Nerazzurri.
